OCUA Christmas Party | Duck the Halls

Saturday, December 10, 2016

Yesterday, we stopped seeing patients a liiittle bit early because we had our Christmas/Holiday party at Cannons in Dana Point. As usual, we had good food, there was a photobooth, and Dr. B took a giant group picture where the short people (including myself) were forced to the front and squat for what felt like an eternity. But let's be honest, I needed those squats after all the food I ate.

Left: Photos from the Holiday Party 2013; Right: Photos from the Holiday Party 2016. Sarah, Trang, and I are the only ones from 2013. (P.S. Like the penis magnet my mother got me from Italy? LOL...appropriate for a urology nurse.)

Today, we took a short walk to the Market Place for Duck the Halls. Unfortunately, Ralph misread the information for the event, so we went to the wrong location; BUT, that only meant that we got to see 2 of the 3 Ducks trees today. ;)

His jersey is still a little too big for him, haha!

#momhair -_-

There were lots of fun activities for kids, and we were able to score some freebies! Owen had a great time, even though he threw a minor tantrum towards the end. *Sigh*

GOAL!

Afterwards, we walked over to Target to pick up some groceries. I think it's just a rule around here - we HAVE to go to Target every weekend.

We bought these magnets for Owen, which we regretted immediately. Right now, they're all on the floor...and quite possibly underneath the refrigerator. Oops.

Until next time!

'Tis the Season!

Monday, December 5, 2016

It's December, and it's finally Christmas season!!! And I'm happy to announce that we're officially done with moving, just in time for the holidays. All boxes are unpacked (or in storage), and we turned in our keys to our old apartment last Saturday. It's a great feeling when things start getting back to normal. I was very tempted to take out our Christmas decorations while we were moving (I mean, they were already out...so why not, right?), but I was a good girl and waited till the weekend after Thanksgiving.

As soon as I opened our container of ornaments, Owen grabbed a Christmas ball and chucked it onto our patio. It was right then and there that I realized that our favorite ornaments would have to wait until next year, since most of our ornaments are breakable...not to mention a lot of them are Hallmark collectibles given to us by my mother-in-law, so they're extremely meaningful.

Ralph and I thought about putting a gate around the tree like we did last year, but we immediately squashed that idea. Instead, we went to Target to shop for ornaments. Ralph had been eyeing a campfire ornament since Target set up for Christmas, so we decided on a Western/camping theme for our tree this year. We didn't want to spend too much, so we recycled some of our old ornaments, and I made some pom-pom ones as well.

*Sigh* I wouldn't be surprised if that tree was knocked down at least once during this holiday season.

Help.

Once the tree was decorated, it was time to decorate the rest of the apartment.

I recycled some of the potpourri balls into Christmas ornaments as well.

Even Owen's room got a Christmas decoration!

This past Saturday, we had our Annual Cookie Decorating Party at work, and it was AMAZING. Our managers went all-out, and it was so fun seeing my coworkers, doctors, and their babies/nieces/nephews. We didn't just decorate cookies - we had pancakes, built little Christmas houses, and even had a visit from Santa (unfortunately, we missed Santa because we had a birthday party to go to)...but he still gave Owen a nice present! Thanks, Santa and OCUA!

He didn't care about the cookie...he just wanted the M&Ms, lol!

Afterwards, we went to Corona for our friends' baby's first birthday party. Owen had more cookies and some cake and spent the entire time in the bouncy house or pushing a kid around on a Power Wheel. Can you say, "BEST DAY EVER?"

Happy Birthday, sweet Brooke!!!

Colt wanted to ride. Owen wanted to push. Perfect!

And yesterday, we went to Disneyland. They're having the Festival of Holidays, which is kind of like the Food and Wine Festival. We ate, went on rides, and had a good ol' time.

Kid parties hard.
As if Owen didn't have enough sweets this weekend, we bought him a Mickey Mouse cookie decorating kit. To Owen's delight, it came with...M&M's.

I'm pretty sure Owen is loving all this holiday cheer already. Until next time!
