WARNING - CONTENT OVERLOAD!!!

Fun Facts About Owen:
  • Knows how to drink from a straw, kiss (with an open mouth, blegh), and opens/closes his hands to say hi/goodbye
  • His favorite foods are blueberry pancakes, sausages, and anything with cheese
  • Loves dancing to all kinds of music

And just like that - we have a toddler! Ralph and I decided to take Owen's birthday week off and go to San Diego for several days. We went to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and the Safari Park. Yes, 3 parks in 3 warm days, but we all had fun. I'll admit, we probably should have done this trip when Owen's a little older, but we all still had a blast.

We got him a stuffed toy from each park. I forgot to take a picture of him with his beluga whale from Sea World.

After going to the Safari Park (our third day in San Diego), we headed home. The following day, Owen's actual birthday, we went to Disneyland. So really, we went to 4 parks in 4 days.

You see that face? That is the face of a toddler who is taking a dump SO huge that his mama had to give him a little bath in a Disneyland sink.

That night, we stopped by the store to get him a little cake and sing him "Happy Birthday"! It's one of his favorite songs now.

On Friday, I spent the whole day with my mom as we prepared for Owen's first birthday party. We went to Costco, Smart & Final, Trader Joe's, and Michael's; not to mention we took a couple of trips to get tables, chairs, platters, and other decorations from a couple of my mom's friends - thank you Tita Violy and Tita Tess! I stayed at my mom and dad's till 1:00am making some of the desserts. When I got home, I passed out.

The following morning (the day of the party) was when the REAL work started. While Ralph continued to be on Owen duty, I went to Party City, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Dollar Tree to pick up last-minute things. I'm not sure how we managed it all, but we did. Huge shout out to my mom, dad, brother, and Ralph for cooking, cleaning, watching the baby, and everything else! And a big thank you to everyone who came yesterday and celebrated with us!

Honey Sugar Cookies with little bees! Thanks to my awesome mother-in-law for making these!

Okay, from these photos, it looks like it was only me, Ralph, and Owen at the party, but I swear we had our families there, lol!

This week was certainly a week to remember. And now, on our last day of vacation, we're just going to stay home, eat leftovers, and watch a bunch of TV ("The Good Dinosaur", The Oscars, the Ducks game, and "The Walking Dead").

Until next time!
